Our new baby is here!

Sadie Tessa
09.10.2008
9 lbs., 6 oz.
21 1/4 "Sadie is beautiful, and we are so in love with her. She has a full head of dark silky hair, and she doesn't look that big to us! The kids are having so much fun with her, and Leia was so excited when she found out she had a new sister. Sadie is actually a really great sleeper so far (pray that continues), and we're just trying to get into the swing of things as a family of 6! We all had a flu bug right before she came, and I even had it going into labor, so I've been much more tired than usual. It's been hard not having the energy I'm used to, but thankfully, Greg is off for a bit.
Jack, Leia and Max all got to spend a few nights at Nana & Papa's house after Sadie was born, but they came by every day to hold her. Sadie gave them a new toy- Webkinz, which is something Jack has been wanting for a while now. Max and Jack are holding theirs. The kids gave Sadie an elephant soft toy (they all have something similar to sleep with. Jack has a frog; Leia has a puppy; Max has a turtle. They are named Froggy; Puppy; and Turtle. We're clever).
Sadie Baby sleeping. Max came up with that nickname. I wasn't kidding about her hair!
She's maybe 6 hours old here. She was so quiet her first 24 hours, and now that she's getting milk, she's back to that quiet alert state a lot now. Her cry is so cute, too. She sounds like a little bird squaking.
Leia picked out this outfit for her to wear. She wants to go shopping to pick out some girl clothes for Sadie. Since we've never known if we're having a boy or girl until they're born, we have some unisex clothes (green, yellow, white). Time to pass on the boy clothes!

We are so blessed to have our new baby Sadie. She completes our family, and we love her so much.

ETA: If you're wanting more details on her birth...
Sadie was born at home :), just as we had hoped. (Max was, too, and it was awesome). I had gone to my midwives' office at 11:30 and was 4 cm. The midwives then came over at about 2 pm and finished setting things up. My mom left work early to take the older kids and pick Jack up from school. Sadie was born at 4:49pm after just 2 pushes (like both Leia and Max). Greg caught her and got to see first that she is a girl! I held her right after that for a long time and she nursed right away. For those of you who have been keeping track of the bathroom's progress...it is NOT done, which meant a lot of going up/down stairs for me (which is actually good in labor), BUT Sadie and I did use the tub for the first time after she was born. The midwives have an herbal bath that is so nice after having a baby. Sadie was really relaxed in there, too. The tile is down on the floor, but not grouted. Greg was planning on grouting the day before Sadie was born, but he was sick. He's planning on getting back to work on it soon.
